Celebrities Nancy Sinatra’s journey from struggling singer to fashion icon

Nancy Sinatra, the oldest daughter of famous singer Frank Sinatra and his wife Nancy Barbato Sinatra, was born on June 8, 1940.

When Nancy was young, her family lived in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.

“We had a nice little house there, but people would come to see us because they knew my dad lived there. It worried my mom because I was just a little kid, and she didn’t want anyone taking me from the yard,” Nancy said in an interview with The Guardian.

Growing up, Nancy Sinatra was always in the spotlight because her dad, Frank Sinatra, was famous. You might think becoming a famous singer herself would have been easy, but her first songs didn’t do well, and she almost lost her record deal with her dad’s label.

But after getting some singing lessons and changing her image, Nancy became successful, just like we remember her.

When her family moved to California for her dad’s acting career, Nancy took lessons in dancing, acting, piano, and singing.

We all remember her for wearing those cool go-go boots and singing “These Boots Are Made For Walking.” It even had a music video, which was rare back then.

“I knew it was a hit the first time the songwriter played the bass line on his guitar in my mom’s living room. When I heard it in the studio, I knew it would be a number-one hit. I even told him to release it without my singing! The fact that it’s still popular with girls today shows how good it is. I was lucky to record it, and I think the fashion helped too. Girls always want a pair of boots,” Nancy told Los Angeles Magazine in 2016.

Before the hit song that got her three Grammy nominations, Nancy had quit college after a year, got married and divorced, and almost lost her record deal with her dad’s label.

Luckily, songwriter Lee Hazlewood helped her sing in a lower voice, she changed her style to match the trendy “Carnaby Street” look, and in 1966, she released her most famous song. It became number one on both the United States Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. Singles Chart.

After her big hit, Nancy had more successful songs like “How Does That Grab You, Darlin’?” and “Sugar Town.” She also acted in movies, starring with Peter Fonda in “The Wild Angels” in 1966 and with Elvis Presley in “Speedway” in 1968.

n the 1970s, she decided to take a break from being famous to take care of her kids from her second marriage to Hugh Lambert.

But she made a big comeback by posing for Playboy when she was 54 years old. She also released her third album, which had famous musicians like Bono and Morrissey. She says Morrissey was like a mentor to her.
